Simone Biles recently endured a health scare, calling it \u201cone of, if not the scariest experience of my life.\u201d<\/p>\n
The 11-time Olympic medalist shared a post to her Instagram story on June 6, alluding to an alarming medical issue, although she didn\u2019t get into any specifics.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not one to normally share things like this because I value privacy in today\u2019s age,\u201d Biles captioned the photo. \u201cBut almost dying wasn\u2019t on my bingo card earlier this week.\u201d<\/p>\n
Biles, who won four medals during the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, did not provide any further details about what happened. <\/p>\n
She said her husband, Jonathan Owens, who signed with the Indianapolis Colts in March, was not with her during the ordeal.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis was one of, if not the scariest experience of my life. Especially since Jonathan (Owens) was in Indy for practices,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve been in bed resting this week, I\u2019ll explain sooner or later but s\/o to my close circle who reached out, checked in, visited & or sent flowers. Loooovveeee y\u2019all,\u201d she concluded.<\/p>\n
She later posted a photo of her resting in bed with her dogs, along with an image of her heart rate.<\/p>\n
The post came just days after she shared a video of her doing backflips<\/a> on a trampoline on June 3.<\/p>\n The world\u2019s most decorated gymnast, 29, has been open about the toll her body has paid from competing over the years.<\/p>\n \u201cI went back to the village, I took the elevator and my body literally collapsed. I was sick for 10 days,\u201d she told L\u2019Equipe<\/a> in 2025 about her experience at the 2024 Summer Olympics. \u201cThe other day, we were sprinting in the garden with friends, I had aches and pains for three days.\u201d<\/p>\n Biles withdrew from five events at the 2021 Olympics in Tokyo after suffering from \u201cthe twisties.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cSo, having these mental blocks in the gym recently, it\u2019s not been fun, it\u2019s been scary,\u201d she said on her Facebook Watch show, \u201cSimone vs Herself,\u201d<\/a> in September 2021. \u201cI\u2019m getting lost in my skills. I\u2019m so prepared that I don\u2019t know if I\u2019m overthinking, but it\u2019s getting to the point where it\u2019s becoming dangerous.\u201d<\/p>\n Biles also said the problem led her to become concerned for her physical well-being.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s like at this point, I don\u2019t know what to do because it\u2019s too dangerous to do, and you can\u2019t change the routines,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n The \u201ctwisties\u201d occur when a gymnast loses spatial awareness while mid-air.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s so dangerous. It\u2019s basically life or death. It\u2019s a miracle I landed on my feet,\u201d Biles previously told New York magazine<\/a> about her experience with the mental block. \u201cIf that was any other person, they would have gone out on a stretcher.\u201d<\/p>\n The 2028 Games will take place in Los Angeles, and Biles\u2019 status was uncertain even before this health incident.<\/p>\n \u201cWhether on the apparatus or in the stands, I still don\u2019t know that,\u201d she told French sports outlet L\u2019Equipe back in April 2025. \u201cBut 2028 seems so far away, and my body is aging.
