{"id":33347,"date":"2026-06-13T04:22:30","date_gmt":"2026-06-13T04:22:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/trendifyhubusa.com\/index.php\/2026\/06\/13\/trump-says-fuel-prices-are-not-very-high-as-iran-war-limits-supply\/"},"modified":"2026-06-13T04:22:30","modified_gmt":"2026-06-13T04:22:30","slug":"trump-says-fuel-prices-are-not-very-high-as-iran-war-limits-supply","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trendifyhubusa.com\/index.php\/2026\/06\/13\/trump-says-fuel-prices-are-not-very-high-as-iran-war-limits-supply\/","title":{"rendered":"Trump says fuel prices are &#8216;not very high&#8217; as Iran war limits supply"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<p>June 10, 2026, 2:25 p.m. ET<\/p>\n<div>\n<aside aria-label=\"advertisement\" class=\"gnt_x__c gnt_x__lbl gnt_x__bv\"\/>\n<aside aria-label=\"advertisement\" class=\"gnt_x__c gnt_x__bvd gnt_x__h\"\/>\n<aside class=\"gnt_em gnt_em__fp gnt_em_vp__tp gnt_em__el\" aria-label=\"Video - President Trump expects the price of gas to 'drop' when Iran war ends\"\/>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">President <a href=\"http:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/news\/politics\/donald-trump\/\" data-t-l=\":b|e|k|\u2691u\" class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Donald Trump<\/a>\u00a0said fuel prices are \u201cnot very high, relatively speaking,\u201d\u00a0though the ongoing Iran war has spiked the cost of gas and some Americans have grown impatient with the Trump administration&#8217;s handling of the conflict.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">The president&#8217;s comments, which he made to reporters earlier this week, come after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ipsos.com\/sites\/default\/files\/ct\/news\/documents\/2026-06\/Reuters%20Ipsos%20Large%20Issue%20Topline%20June%202026%206.10%20release.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" data-t-l=\":b|z|k|\u2691u\" class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\">a new Reuters\/Ipsos poll<\/a> shows\u00a060% of\u00a0Americans disapprove of\u00a0U.S. military strikes against Iran \u2013\u00a0and\u00a0a majority\u00a0expect gas prices\u00a0will\u00a0continue rising.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">As of\u00a0June 10, the average price per gallon for regular gasoline was $4.15, down from $4.26 the week before, and down from $4.52 the month prior,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gasprices.aaa.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" data-t-l=\":b|z|k|\u2691u\" class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\">according to AAA<\/a>. This time last year, it was $3.12.<\/p>\n<aside aria-label=\"advertisement\" class=\"gnt_x__c gnt_x__lbl gnt_x__al\"\/>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Blockades in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/news\/world\/2026\/04\/13\/why-trump-blockade-strait-hormuz-us-iran\/89586931007\/\" data-t-l=\":b|e|k|\u2691u\" class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the Strait of Hormuz<\/a> have limited the global oil supply. Since the conflict began, regular gasoline costs\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/data.usatoday.com\/projects\/us-israel-war-iran-gas-prices\/index.html\" data-t-l=\":b|e|k|\u2691u\" class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">are\u00a0up nearly 40%<\/a>.\u00a0In May, gas prices shot up 7% following a 5.4% rise in April and a 21.2% surge in March, according to Labor Department data released June 10.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">&#8220;The numbers were great,\u201d Trump told reporters reacting to the Consumer Price Index report which showed annual inflation <a href=\"http:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/money\/economy\/2026\/06\/10\/may-inflation-report-cpi-consumer-sentiment--live\/90462647007\/\" data-t-l=\":b|e|k|\u2691u\" class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">climbed to 4.2%<\/a> in May. \u201cI love the inflation. He asked Americans for patience and said elevated prices would not last \u201cmuch longer.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">But many Americans don&#8217;t believe prices will drop soon<strong>.<\/strong> Of the 4,531 Americans surveyed in the Reuters\/Ipsos poll, 59%\u00a0said they believe gas prices will get worse over the next year\u00a0because of\u00a0the war, including 83% of Democrats, 61% of Independents, and 34% of Republicans.<\/p>\n<aside aria-label=\"advertisement\" class=\"gnt_x__c gnt_x__lbl gnt_x__al\"\/>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">And higher prices at the gas pump\u00a0have <a href=\"http:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/money\/2026\/04\/28\/gas-prices-forecast-pain-at-the-pump\/89836613007\/\" data-t-l=\":b|e|k|\u2691u\" class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">soured Americans\u2019 feelings<\/a> about the economy\u00a0in 2026.
