The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has released an implementation guide<\/a> to help members and leaders prepare for the changes to the Sunday class meeting schedule<\/a> that begin on September 6, 2026.<\/p>\n

The changes that the First Presidency announced<\/a> on March 30, 2026, include weekly 25-minute Sunday School, Relief Society, elders quorum, Young Women and Aaronic Priesthood quorum meetings and youth lessons. Also announced was a youth curriculum based on an updated<\/a> \u201cFor the Strength of Youth: A Guide for Making Choices<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to the guide, \u201cThis is more than a schedule change; it is an invitation to joyful, Christ-centered worship\u2014renewing our home-centered, Church-supported pattern and strengthening covenant belonging.\u201d<\/p>\n

Instructions for implementing the new Sunday class schedule on September 6 are found in a newly released implementation guide. First Week of August<\/b><\/h3>\n

In addition to the implementation guide, instructional videos and other resources will be available during the first week of August on sunday.ChurchofJesusChrist.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Languages<\/strong><\/p>\n

The guide is available in Cebuano, Chinese\u2014Simplified, Chinese\u2014Traditional, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Portuguese (Brazil), Portuguese (European), Russian, Samoan, Spanish, Swedish, Tagalog, Tongan and Ukrainian.<\/p>\n

For other languages, follow the instructions found in the guide and the notice<\/u><\/a> sent to local Church leaders on June 25, 2025.<\/p>\n

On Sunday, August 30, youth (including Primary children who will turn 12 in 2027), their parents and youth leaders will discuss section 3 of the implementation guide and learn more about the new curriculum and how to use the \u201cFor the Strength of Youth Guide\u201d and magazine. (Families and youth leaders can subscribe to the print version of the \u201cFor the <\/b>Strength of Youth\u201d magazine at magazines.ChurchofJesusChrist.org<\/a> or access it in <\/b>Gospel Library<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

Adults will attend a 5th<\/sup> Sunday meeting, and Primary will follow its normal schedule.<\/p>\n

Sunday, September 6<\/b><\/h3>\n

On Sunday, September 6, youth and adults will attend 25-minute Sunday School classes, where they will view two videos: \u201cSunday School\u201d and \u201cThe Sabbath and Sacrament Meeting.\u201d After the videos, they will discuss sections 1, 2 and 4 of the implementation guide.<\/p>\n

During the 25-minute Relief Society and elders quorum meetings, adults will view the video \u201cRelief Society and Elders Quorums,\u201d and then discuss section 5 of the implementation guide.<\/p>\n

Having discussed the changes the previous week, youth will begin using the new curriculum.<\/p>\n

Primary will follow its normal schedule, now lasting 55 minutes.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
