The judge said he sealed information related to the defense because it would have been \u201cvery prejudicial\u201d to Mangione if his attorneys decided not to move forward with the strategy.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-elevate inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph_elevate\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cmqi5qgrj000c3b6r7kcv9w47@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            Carro ordered the defense to turn over information related to the extreme emotional disturbance defense \u2013 including the name of their psychiatric expert \u2013 no later than Thursday.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-elevate inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph_elevate\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cmqi5qgrj000d3b6rq62tg1g5@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            \u201c(Prosecutors) need to know what the malady is that this defendant suffers and how that triggered an extreme emotional disturbance at the time and place of the occurrence,\u201d he said. \u201cNothing is going to be a surprise. I\u2019m not going to let you surprise the People on the eve of the trial. So, get it done.\u201d\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-elevate inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph_elevate\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cmqi5qgrj000e3b6rp5zrgzys@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            Prosecutors argued the defense had \u201cstonewalled\u201d them.
