Take a bow, <em>Les Bleus<\/em>, for doing something that seemed impossible before the World Cup began.<\/p>\n<p>Our voters can&#8217;t get enough of Mbapp\u00e9 &amp; Co. following their smooth 3-1 win to open play in Group I, with 13 of 20 first-place votes, having picked up just six in our previous ballot, and it&#8217;s not hard to see why: After a muddled first half in which France struggled to click, Mbapp\u00e9 picked up two second-half goals (including an otherworldly effort from range in injury time) to become France&#8217;s all-time men&#8217;s top scorer as they racked up eight shots on target to <a data-clubhouse-guid=\"3d969454-cda7-bf55-21fb-33a8c2ca21ee\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/soccer\/team?id=654\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Senegal<\/a>&#8216;s one, which <a data-player-guid=\"6cff6e05-2c70-3b76-b176-f330fb4f2070\" href=\"http:\/\/espn.com\/soccer\/player\/_\/id\/82816\/ibrahim-mbaye\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ibrahim Mbaye<\/a> converted in the 95th minute.<\/p>\n<p>Mbapp\u00e9 looks highly motivated, <a data-player-guid=\"ba2fd99c-bc86-9ef0-80b9-16b2a77cb1be\" href=\"http:\/\/espn.com\/soccer\/player\/_\/id\/233075\/michael-olise\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Michael Olise<\/a>&#8216;s red-hot form at the club level with <a data-clubhouse-guid=\"25b5e432-d3d2-939f-f73b-6e531a6fbd91\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/soccer\/team?id=132\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bayern Munich<\/a> has continued (one assist, four chances created) and France&#8217;s defense limited Senegal to just 0.10 xG over the 90 minutes.
