Rapid Reaction: What Maper Maker brings to Arkansas basketball

Arkansas basketball landed the commitment of former four-star big man Maper Maker on Sunday evening. The 7-foot, 215-pound big man is the seventh commitment for John Calipari and the Hogs so far this cycle. He chose the Razorbacks over Memphis. 

Maker was a four-star recruit in the 2025 recruiting class and No. 27 overall center in the cycle according to 247Sports. Instead of going the college route, Maker spent the last season going the prep route in Australia, where he played for AUNZ Prep. Prior to that he briefly spent time with Arizona Unity on the Nike EYBL circuit in 2024. He’s the cousin of former NBA player Thon Maker.
