Who is Josué Caicedo? The Ecuadorian player joining Barcelona

Barcelona continue to invest in the future. After the arrival of young Egyptian Hamza Abdelkarim to Barça Atlètic, the next will be Ecuadorian Josué Caicedo, a 19-year-old left-back from Liga de Quito.

According to various reports, Caicedo caught Barcelona scouts’ attention during the last U-20 Copa Libertadores. He stands out for his strong physique, pace, attacking ability, and crossing.

He is also valued for his versatility, as he can play in more advanced roles. Despite having made just ten appearances for LDU Quito’s first team, his potential is considered enough to justify the deal.
